FAQs

Q?

What if my belongings are lost, damaged or stolen?

A.

Denny’s Storage Co. does not accept liability claims for any property inside individual storage units. Please check with your individual insurer regarding coverage. Some policies include items in storage units.

Q?

Do I keep the lock?

A.

Yes. Please remove your lock and take it with you when the unit is empty and clean.  Please Call the office when you have removed the lock and moved out.

Q?

Do I need to clean the storage unit when I move out?

A.

Yes. Your storage unit will be clean and empty when you move in. Please remove all items (including those you may want to discard) and sweep the unit when vacated. A cleaning fee or land fill fee will be assessed to the tenant for any remaining items left in the unit.

Q?

Do I need to give you notice if I move out?

A.

Yes. A two-week notice is required for units sized 5′ x 8′ through 6′ x 13′. Units sized 10′ x 10′ or larger require a one month vacating notice.

Q?

Is there anything I’m not allowed to store?

A.

Do not store flammables, fuels, ammunition, paints, explosives, animals or perishables. Store at your own risk: guns, money, securities, jewelry, furs, paintings and other high-risk valuables.

Q?

What can I store in the units?

A.

You can store almost anything: furniture, household goods, office items, appliances, boats, cars, motorcycles or other vehicles.

Q?

What type of lock is the most secure?

A.

Denny’s Storage goes to great lengths to ensure your belongings are safe but a strong padlock is a good investment.

We recommend using a “disc” type lock. Disc locks are round and limit the use of a bolt cutter making it very difficult to remove a lock without a key. Denny’s Storage Co. offers these types of locks at a reduced rate to tenants (just ask for more details!) or they can be purchased at most hardware stores.

Q?

Are there any security measures in place?

A.

Bismarck-Mandan Security patrols each location, checking locks several times in a 24 hour period, seven days a week, along with our own staff surveying each location throughout the day.

Q?

What are the units like?

A.

All driveways are hard surfaced with asphalt or concrete. Units are constructed of steel exteriors and wood or steel interiors. The units have either walk-in or overhead roll-up style doors.

Q?

What size storage units does Denny’s Storage offer?

A.

Our self-storage units range in size from 5’x 8′ to 12’x 60′

Q?

Do the units have temperature or climate control?

A.

All storage units are regarded as “cold storage” meaning none of the units have water, sewage or climate control such as heat or air conditioning.

Q?

Do any storage units have power available?

A.

There are no outlets in the units, however, unit exteriors are well lit and have limited power available outside. Tenants may temporarily use available outlets located on exterior of the buildings.

Q?

Is there a minimum or maximum lease agreement?

A.

A one month minimum is required, but after that, unit rentals can be on a month-to-month basis.

Q?

When is the rent due and how do I make my payment?

A.

Rent is due on the first of each month. Tenants can make payments in a variety of ways: check or automatic bank deposit, credit card and automatic credit card payments. Check payments can be sent in the mail or dropped by the office. For your convenience, an after-hours payment drop box is located at the front entrance of the main office located at 3138 N. 10th Street, Suite #1, Bismarck ND 58503. Payments received after the 10th of each month will be assessed a late fee.

Q?

What are the hours I can have access to my storage unit?

A.

All of our well-lit facilities offer 24 hours access, 7 days a week. All units have 24 hour drive up access.
